Quiet day, with busy morning shift at work and a long nap and some alone time in the afternoon were long needed. I consciously decided to spend it doing Nothing, I definitely feel burnt out by the recent emotional rollercoasters I’ve been on.

Stop and Rest. It was very pleasant and I wasn’t disappointed. I went out for a conscious walk to Calton Hill, finally at 10.20PM. It’s been pouring heavy rain for a good part of the day and the weather was misty with a light drizzle, but no hard wind. Refreshing and enveloping in a familiar and nourishing, almost uterine, fogginess.

On my way I met Marsia, a friend who recently came back in Edinburgh, who I didn’t really have the chance to catch up with, so far. She joined me in the walk through the watery air and among the half-hidden monument and trees, up until my stone were we sat for a while, looking at the nothingness of the world around, disappeared in a grey blanket, with yellow reflections of the city underneath.

We went back, had some late junk food and said goodbye, all moving in a perfect sinchronicity that made me feel grounded and strong.

I just finished a 30 minutes silent meditation, which has been restless for the first part, but consistent in the second one, with a beautiful sensation of strength and stability in my spine and shoulders, and a very light mind, especially at the end, despite the usual flow of thoughts.

Giving the time to reset.
