The book written by Anita Kraft is a fabulous way to approach the world of qabalah.
The Qabalah is a tradition whose origins are somewhat diffuse. While Qabalah is traditionally attributed to Jewish culture, the system itself was ,and it is in use, by Gnostics, and probably was part of the magickal practices of Egyptians, Greeks, Romans…
As in many hermetic traditions the qabalah and its origins are mysterious, the teachings of the qabalah are reflected in the symbolic art of the world, especially in the West, where it originated.
I had studied the qabalah and the tree of life in a superficial way, had read about it in magic books and above all in The book of Toth by Alistair Crowley, whose deck of Tarot cards I own and use. The elements of which the qabalah speaks are the elements that make up reality, and how some forces interact with others. Understanding these forces is a lifelong study. It is necessary to dedicate time, effort, dedication and FOCUS for the plan suggested by Anita Kraft, to bear fruit. It is fair, as the practice of qabalah aims to separate and assimilate with consciousness the elements that make up the Universe.
I love when the Author of a book of such complex subjects, which exploration require its direct subjective experiences (although trying to maintain an objective mind during them) explain a little about themselves and their baggage, history and that, in some way, speak to you in everyday terms. Many texts of Qabalah or magic have a language that, personally, I find hard to catch sometimes. The concepts penetrate the psyche as somewhat abstract entities, and dare to shape its space, its symbolism. The way in which Anita Frank explains the qabalah makes it easier to understand, because its practice makes more evident what it is trying to understand.
The practices proposed in the book are simple and structured, all very similar to each other, emphasizing the acquisition of objects to use them in an altar. Altars are a very powerful tool for psychenautics, placing symbols in a space delimited by a canvas with inspiring motifs brings magic to the room. The warm light of a candle is the beacon for what we invoke to reach this realm. It is very simple to understand how you should do it, the essence of it, also the author encourages you to expand your own correspondence.
It is a workbook, a guideline of practice and study (with numerous bibliography) for you to get down to work and discover the Qabalah.
At the end of the book today I had a thought about what I had read from Crowley’s book, whose words, even written in Spanish, sound confusing… although somehow the concepts that were so rimbombastically exposed in Crowley’s text entered my mind and when I read them in Kraft’s text they sounded familiar.
This makes me think that books that talk about magick are magickal in themselves. The words that make it up are an entity that as soon as you read it enters you and begins to manifest so that you understand its deeper and real meaning.
Excellent reading for anyone who wants to approach the qabbalah in a practical and direct way… although using a lot of FOCUS and DECISION.
It has some links to websites and social media, but they don’t work
