Challenge – Day 1

Sunshine and wind are the first things that I welcomed this morning, waking up ready for the first day of the challenge. I took my time, some yoga to shake away the nervous dreams I had last night. I went out, ready for my first 30min conscious walk…
At first it was hard not to let my head wonder on what I’d do next, or the meeting I’d be going to in the afternoon, or my work life…. and above all, I had no idea of where to go!
But the sun was feeling good on the skin, and I decided to play with it: I’d walk only in the sun, making sure not to step on any shadow (except mine, only when strictly necessary).

This forced me to change my path, retrace my steps and, from time to time, jump from a sunny spot to the other, leading me to a few little alleys I didn’t explore before. I walked by a restaurant that smelled strongly like vinegar, and it made me feel awake and refreshed. I listened to the sound of my footsteps on the pavement, felt the softness of the grass growing inbetween the cobble stones under my feet. It was fun and it went much faster than I thought it would.
I felt very proud of fhe first successful experiment.

After lunch, meditation time. Instead of the 2 breaks of 15min, I went for 30min straight. I made it, but I rushed into it. I felt uncomfortable and a bit restless, it was hard to let go, I suppose I’ve been feeling overexcited after the walk and was unable to stay in the moment, so… so much for being so proud just a few hours earlier! Anyway I managed to finish my 30 minutes with a light, empty mind.

I find that taking things in a non-serious way, today, was the key to open the magic in front, and inside of me.
